I can't tell you how thrilled I am that Abi and Gavin's stunning Oxford Wedding has been featured on Rock My Wedding. It is always an absolute joy to see my work on their website and an absolute joy to re-live such a special day. From the moment I spoke to Abi and Gavin about their plans I knew we would be a perfect fit and could already tell it was going to be an incredibly special day. Abi has an amazing eye for detail and style and really brought the whole the whole day together with so many personal touches that made it their own.
"This intimate Oxford wedding is filled to the brim with personal touches and charm. The couple shared a special moment with a first look before walking down the aisle together whilst the harp played Toto by Africa, after exiting to the Jurrasic Park theme the couple then took a short walk through the back streets of Oxford with their guests to the reception. The Bodleian Library played host to the second part of their day and offered a stunning and dramatic backdrop for the evening celebrations which featured a period style mirrored table plan and an epic cheese tower cake. This personal and relaxed day is all beautifully photographed by Poppy Carter Portraits." RMW
Is there any better way to get to your wedding reception than by leading your guests down the cobbles streets and hitching a piggy back lift from your new husband? Abi's blush tulle Willowby by Watters dress just added all the romance as well as those exceptional flowers from Sarah Harper flowers.
'Oxford is steeped in history and spectacular architecture including the beautiful Bodleian Library which is one of the oldest libraries in Europe and where Abi & Gavin chose to have their stunning wedding reception. The bride wore a delicately laced Willowby by Watters dress teamed with a Jenny Packham shrug and a gorgeous flower crown. Every part of this wedding will make you smile and it’s very hard not to when the couple are so evidentially happy together.' RMW
We arrived slightly early to The Bodleian so I was able to 'steal' Abi and Gavin for a few more couple portraits before heading in for dinner, using the stunning Oxford architecture. I honestly could have photographed them all day, every single corner of Oxford is made to be a romantic backdrop!
Not all wedding cakes are created equal... Abi and Gavin chose this cheese tower and Abi even handmade those adorable little mice herself!! With more Sarah Harper flowers adorning it - it really is picture perfect in every way!
Of course, it won't surprise you when I tell you that the incredibly clever Bride made this table plan herself. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best - and with such a small guest list I think this works perfectly!
'Abi & Gavin's advice is to remember it’s going to be an amazing and beautiful day, try to relax and enjoy the planning process whilst also remembering that this is YOUR wedding, the parts that make it personal are the parts that you and your guests will remember forever.'
Every single inch of The Bodleian is truly breath taking - an absolute gem of a venue and a real privilege to be photographing there. If you are considering it as your wedding venue I can't recommend it enough - the team are just wonderful and couldn't have done more to make sure this day was perfect in every way. They made me feel so welcome and I can't wait to go back again soon.
Thank you so much to Rock My Wedding for the feature and also to Abi and Gavin for allowing us to share your beautiful day to inspire other couples! I truly loved every second of their day - it's been such a joy to capture this special moment in such a wonderful couples life!
